A few days ago after the tragic incident on Lake Victoria I was listening to the radio and I heard the presenters tell us how there were few days left to enter the festive season so it was time to be in festive mood. Not that there is anything wrong with that but we have watched incidents happen and people making the social media awash with their opinions or views for a few days and then moving on like nothing ever happened. Not that we have to dwell on the past but behind all this hullabaloo we may overlook the people who are affected the most, the people closest to the victims of the Lake Victoria incident for example the pain they have to live with for the rest of their lives as they heal slowly, for them it is not just about posting a few emotional posts on social media rather they are living the raw pain that can only be lessened with time but will always be there. This is a call to those thatmaybe in close touch with such people tohelp them through the healing process and not to just stop at posting but also be there for them when need be because I believe being there for them IRL would mean so much than just postingand it is also a way to honor those that may not be with us today
. And for the survivors we can only be grateful for the second chance the Lord has given us to spend withyou and if you’re in touch with any please reach out and make the best of the time you have with them. Let us just make our lives more than the posts on social media.
