Mayanja Nkangi Funeral Arrangements released, Burial set for Friday
Fallen veteran politician and former Buganda Kingdom Prime minister Jehoash Mayanja Nkangi will be buried on Friday March 10th, according to a program released by his family. The program indicates that the former finance minister will be buried in his home district of Kalungu in southern Central Uganda. More Ugandans continue to pay tribute to Nkangi whose candle blew out on Monday at the age of 85 at Nakasero Hospital where he was receiving medical treatment for pneumonia pending transfer to India for further treatment. Meanwhile, government will meet all his burial and medical bills. A program released by the family also indicates that his body will be taken to Mengo tomorrow Wednesday for members of the Buganda Lukiiko to pay their last respects. The following day, Thursday, the body will be taken to St. Luke Ntinda for a funeral service before proceeding to parliament where his body will lie in state. Later that day, there will be a special parliament sitting for legislators to pay tribute to the former Kalungu West MP. Government chief whip Ruth Nankabirwa said that Mayanja Nkangi will be laid to rest on Friday in Kalungu
