It has emerged that two days prior
to the assassination of Assistant Inspector
General of Police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi, the
slain officer met a Catholic priest and confided
in him about his fears for his life.
Sources close to the priest say Kaweesi showed
him a text message on his cell phone
(Kaweesi’s) that read: “I will kill you.”
The message was sent by a cellphone number
which was not registered.
The priest, who took a screenshot of the text
message, reportedly wondered why unregistered
numbers were still in use.
Kaweesi reportedly told the priest how he had
thwarted a fraudulent transaction by a high-
ranking police officer.
Kaweesi, 43, was murdered last Friday together
with his driver and bodyguard in Kulambiro,
Kampala as they were leaving his home headed
for work.
He is survived by a widow and children.
The fallen senior policeman was laid to rest at
his ancestral home at Kitwekyanjovu village in
Kyanzanga, Lwengo district.
Some arrests have been made since then.
