DR.Besigye Shawns contributing 2Bn Shilling to Mulago Radiotherapy purchase
Opposition iron man Col. Dr. Kiiza
Besigye has trashed media claims that he has contributed a whooping 2
billion Uganda Shillings to the purchase of a new Radiotherapy machine
at Mulago cancer institute.
The machine recently broke down prompting Ugandans to put pressure on government to buy a new one at a cost not less than 10Bn, but in vain.
This left the citizens with no option but to mobilize funds to buy a new machine themselves.
This morning, News outlets were awash reports that FDC former presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye had also contributed 2bn shillings, something he refutes.
Besigye tweeted; “This is total fiction!! I fully support all effort to save Mulago but I haven't made any pledge.”
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party publicity secretary, Paul Kenneth Kakande also promised the party would contribute to this good cause, just in case Ugandans decide to continue with the drive.
